The man who gave us “permanent campaigning“, at first sight, has given us a new concept to play with. “Permanent exit”
Having treated myself to the first few chapters of the Times serialisation “The Third Man“, it seems perfectly clear that Mandy has no intention of overtly helping the next generation of Labour leaders in their quest to regain the affections and votes of the nation.
Or does he?
Blairites and Brownites can now move along into the past. When the dust settles and the ire subsides it may be that Mr Mandelson has done Labour a favour inspite of current feelings to the contrary.
Reinvention needs a new concept.
