I can feel the rumbling in the distance…

Here it comes.

That queasy feeling where your nerves tingle and your stomach starts to cartwheel….

No, this is not the ‘strap you in so you can’t get off now’ heart-jolter on Thorpe Park’s Collosus.

Nor the giddy, meltdown moment as you jump out of that plane on a charity parachute jump.

No.

6 Nations tournament time is just around the corner and we are set fair for a fantastic rumble before the autumn Rugby World Cup. Reputations will be won and lost in the next two months as the northern hemisphere’s finest jotle for bragging rights and “the edge” before all head to New Zealand.
This is the moment when most of England, and now it would seem, John Steele, RFU CEO, as reported in todays Guardian, expect us to come at least second. Presumably in a two horse race with the French.

This is the time when our lads are expected to dish it out with a ‘3 games at home’ advantage this year, including the French.

My gut churning moment though, is knowing that first up are our old nemesis..the Welsh. And with Shane Williams now firing again as Toulon found out over the week-end.

Oh dear. I can’t wait. Engerrlaand!
