In defence of gaming, plus keynotes without Steve Jobs

Nicely shot spot and one that gives you a little thrill when you see one of ‘yours’ in the flesh.  And I like the idea that I’m achieving something somewhere while wasting time here – albeit enjoying myself massively.  Trouble is, it’s an ad for gaming in general not the PS3.  Still Sony stopped being unique with the Walkman.

Will Apple cease to be unique now Jobbo’s gone?  I think they already have in taking the same-but-slightly-better approach with the iPhone 4S rather than a back-to-the-drawing-board approach now that the competition has copied and bettered the iPhone.  Not sure Jobbo’s to blame for this though.  Whatever you think of his influence on computing and gadgetry (personally I think he was an innovator, not an inventor), Jobbo was certainly a great marketeer.  Tim Cook didn’t even come close in this week’s keynote  speech – check out Gizmodo’s 80 second edit of the full 137 minutes.

Wow…I suppose that if you identify with Michael you’re a gamer, and if you couldn’t stop laughing for the last thirty seconds you’re me!
